Winter Warmers

If you love rich colour and detailed design Tate Britain’s current exhibition Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde (until 13th January 2013) is a must. Widely encompassing the fine and decorative arts, the movement still exerts an influence today…

The paintings have inspired a trend for rich tones and textures in interiors fabrics this season. Soft, sumptuous velvets in a range of vibrant colours, and fabrics with lustrous finishes create a look of luxury and opulence, and add a touch of warmth and comfort at this time of year.

Wemyss Diva (right), is a range of luxurious and opulent crushed velvets in  25 colourways, and is suitable for curtains, bedspreads, upholstery and cushions.

Why not combine a trip to the exhibition with a visit to the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour to seek out some of these gorgeous fabrics? For information on the Design Centre check out http://www.dcch.co.uk/

All the fabrics and furnishings featured in this blog are available through Orchard House Interiors.
